Safeguarding Haiti's Pine Forest
Haiti's forests are one of the many victims of the country's environmental degradation. There are a mere 3 forests which cover less 2% of the surface area. The largest forest, the Foret de Pin, found in Haiti's southeast in the Massif de la Selle mountain range near the Dominican border, covers 38,470 hectares (ha) and is classified by the government as a reserve.
